Wheelchair Electric Buggy (RT-G-WC)

The Roots EV RT-G-WC is a compact wheelchair-accessible electric buggy designed for hospitals, assisted-living facilities, and rehabilitation centres that need dedicated, dignified transport for wheelchair users without the footprint of a larger patient buggy. A ramp-loaded wheelchair bay sits at the rear of the vehicle, secured by wheelchair anchor straps, with companion seating alongside for an attendant or family member. Powered by a 4 kW 3-phase AC induction motor with a 48V–250A controller, the RT-G-WC delivers smooth, silent acceleration suited to indoor corridors and outdoor campus paths alike. The zero-emission electric drivetrain produces no tailpipe emissions or engine noise, making it safe for indoor floor navigation as well as outdoor grounds. The automatic electronic parking brake prevents unintended movement on ramps and slopes, and fail-safe directional control keeps the vehicle predictable at low speed in tight spaces. A compact turning radius keeps the RT-G-WC manoeuvrable in hospital corridors and lift lobbies where a full-size patient buggy can't easily turn. The on-board smart charger supports an 80% charge in 4 hours, and the 40–100 km range per charge covers a full day of shuttle duty across most campuses without a mid-shift recharge.
